The Globe Theatre was built in London, England, in 1599. It was owned by Shakespeare’s acting company, The Lord Chamberlain’s Men. Many of Shakespeare’s plays were originally performed here, all the way until the Puritans ordered the Globe to close its doors in 1642. the globe theatre
