2 TIME How much time will you be spending each day?

3 SETTING Keep your brain awake Quiet – no distractions TV/music/cell phones/chores, etc.

4 READING Skim/scan vs. reading and taking notes Note taking - what are you looking for?

5 LECTURE NOTES Terms/highlight/NO complete sentences!!

6 DISCOURSE (a very teachery word!) Retell Explain

7 FACEBOOK GROUPS Invite classmates (even Ms. Niles!) to join What can you do with this? – APUSH discourse – Talk to classmates going through the same thing – Get advice – Online study time

8 WASH, RINSE, REPEAT! Repetition Infants use it to learn to speak! Why can’t you use it to learn APUSH? Athletes use it to perfect athletic skills! Why can’t you use it to learn APUSH?

9 Day 1 Beginning of Chapter 1 hour = read chapter with audio 30 minutes = take notes 30 minutes = work on terms

10 Day 2 1 hour = Read (or re-read) chapter 15 minutes = take notes 45 minutes = watch lecture/take notes – terms if time

11 Day 3 1 hour =read 15 minutes =notes/terms 15 minutes = call a friend and talk about APUSH!

12 Day 4 30 minutes = notes (take or read) 30 minutes = terms (define or read) 1 hour = create flash cards

13 Day 5 15 minutes = skim chapter (after reading previously) 15 minutes = check notes for accuracy 15 minutes = flash cards with a partner 30 minutes = re-watch lecture 15 minutes = check lecture notes for accuracy
