Strategy for public transport 2009: UITP launched a vision and strategy for the sector setting out to double the market share of public transport worldwide by 2025 (PTx2) and highlighting the areas where action is urgently needed. 2012: UITP translated the PTx2 vision into a communication campaign called ‘Grow with public transport’. Advocacy tools UITP10 Position papers: Policy Briefs offering detailed policy recommendations Toolboxes offering members inspiration and guidance on specific topics such as the Financing Toolbox on alternative public transport funding streams.

Eu policy work UITP11 Representation of the interests of European public transport at EU level. UITP EU Committee gathers the public transport undertakings and the national associations that are members of UITP.

UITP13 The Youth for Public Transport Foundation engages with young people worldwide to innovate and improve the urban world thanks to the development of sustainable mobility. PUBLICATIONS Wide range of publications covering the whole spectrum of mobility-related issues, such as technology, market organisation, sustainable development, security, standardisation, vehicles, equipment, and policy issues. PTI magazine is the only magazine offering global coverage of urban, suburban and regional public transport issues. PTI is published quarterly in 6 languages. UITP18

UITP offers a portfolio of training programmes covering both wider mobility issues and technical/operational topics. Trainers are expert managers and leading industry figures to ensure the highest possible quality of teaching. UITP training programmes are also the ideal chance to meet and exchange ideas with other like-minded professionals from all over the world. UITP19

Projects UITP is currently involved in 11 European research projects funded by the EU Commission covering the whole spectrum of urban mobility issues. UITP20

Centres for transport excellence UITP has created the CTEs in Singapore and Dubai with the objective of: sharing knowledge; conducting research and performing training to support the development of efficient public transport policies and solutions; promoting sustainable mobility systems as a way of improving the standard of living in a specific region.
