What do HR students study? General COM Classes (12 hours: 102, 204, 318, 304) Core HR Courses (12 hours): 212 (IPC), 324 (Org) plus 372 Com in Relationships 412 Theories of Human Interaction (Verbal/Nonverbal) HR Electives (pick 3, 9 hours): options include 303 Intercultural 374 Social Interaction Skills 375 Conflict & Negotiation OR 417 Training & Development General Com Electives: pick two 300+ COM classes that are not HR; examples include 314 Advanced Public Speaking 435 Com & Emerging Technology (6 hours) Capstone 498 Practicum in HR Internship or Research Project Career or pre-grad school focus Small group of students w/ faculty member (3 hours)

Who is the HR concentration for? Careers requiring excellent communication, analytic, and problem-solving skills: sales, human resources/relations, consulting, counseling, social services… Careers requiring graduate degrees (e.g., JD, PhD)
