Why Serve Snack? encourage young people to take part in afterschool activities and to stay at school later… 2 The purpose of the snack program is to… Promote health and well being.
3
Why do we need training? Snack is funded through reimbursement from the United States Department of Agriculture. By taking part in this training and following all procedures, we ensure that all snacks can be claimed for reimbursement. No Reimbursement = No Snack 3

Programs must: Provide regularly scheduled activities in an organized, structured, and supervised environment; Include educational or enrichment activities; Programs engaged in interscholastic or community level athletics are not eligible. However, afterschool programs that include supervised athletic activity that is “open to all” may be approved. 4

Participant Eligibility 5 Must attend the supervised afterschool program but do not need to participate in activities. 18 years old or younger or turning 19 during the school year. Let’s Eat! 7 A snack is composed of two components. Participants must be served both component. Snack is served and consumed on-site. Each student may receive only one snack. A share table is ok for unwanted items. Return all unserved snacks. +=

Accountability Record The Accountability Report accompanies snack each day. Complete section 2 and return each day. 9
10
Daily Attendance Afterschool coordinator takes daily attendance and submits to the Cafeteria Manager at the conclusion of each week. The # of served snacks cannot exceed the # of students in attendance. 10

Snack can be cancelled! Accountability must always be up-to-date and all procedures must be followed. Snack will be cancelled after one week of delinquency. (We hate doing this.) 12
