2. Georgia’s Bridge Bill  The General Assembly of Georgia enacted the BRIDGE Act House Bill 400 on May 20, 2010. This act was passed to ensure that Georgia’s 6th -12th grade students are aware of available career and postsecondary education options.  In other words, it is a law, and it pertains to YOU.

5. Second Reason  To increase the graduation rate, decrease the drop- out rate, and increase postsecondary enrollment rate.  Georgia wants to make sure all their students have a plan.  The goal is yours! We want to make sure that you have all the information necessary to reach your goal.

So, what does this mean for me?  High school students shall be provided guidance, advisement, and counseling annually that will enable them to successfully complete their individual graduation plans, preparing them for a seamless transition to postsecondary study, further training, or employment.

Explore and investigate at least six careers of interest to you. 3. Create (or update) a four-year individual education plan. 4. Georgia law mandates a 100% completion rate on assignments for each grade level.

Review information and acknowledge that you have been made aware of “College Credit Now” programs: Dual Enrollment, AP classes, Joint Enrollment, Move on When Ready. 3. Update (or create) a four-year individual education plan. 4. Georgia law mandates a 100% completion rate on assignments for each grade level.

Make the connection between school and work by exploring and saving in your portfolio at least three possible choices of postsecondary institutions that match your Individual Education Plan. 3. Identify your next step after graduation: college, military, apprenticeship, or enter the workforce. 3. Georgia law mandates a 100% completion rate on assignments for each grade level.

11. When and how will I do this? 1.Your homeroom teacher will explain your assignments, answer questions, give you your username and password, and monitor your completion. A parent signature is required on your education plan before you can be counted as “complete”. 2.These assignments are a part of your Warrior Wednesday activities. Any student who has not completed all assignments by November 16 th will not be allowed to check out early during 1 st semester exams. Instead, you will have to stay after exams to finish your work. 3.You will go to the computer lab on a day scheduled by one of your core subject teachers (English or Math). You should be able to complete your assignment during that period but can access Career Cruising from home if necessary.
