What’s Your Message? Gifts of Grace: The Kingdom and You I. Structural Gifts Eph.4(7-11) But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers. II. Service Gifts Romans 12(6a) Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly. III. Signature Gifts 1 Cor 12(4-7) 4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. 6 There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. 7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

Why Spiritual Gifts? Jesus is our perfect example. He exemplified all the spiritual gifts through the words He spoke and the actions He carried out. Since Jesus is now at the right hand of God the Father, the Holy Spirit is the primary manifestation of the presence of the Godhead on the earth. Thus our heavenly Father distributes the gifts of the Spirit among the members of His Body, so believers now glorify God through those gifts.

# 1 Reason is to Glorify Jesus 1 st Cor. 12 1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware. 2 You know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to the mute idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. Sin= rejection of Jesus Jn 16(8-9) Jn 1(11) Hebrews 1 (2-3) in these last days* has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. 3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. (see: John )1:18 * The last days of the Mosaic system of rule and government and the temple being the center of God's presence.

Gifts of Holy Spirit glorifies, discloses, and reveals the Father's Heart through His Son. John 16:14 “He will *glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you Luke 10:22 “All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to *reveal Him.” *Apokalyptō- to uncover, lay open what has been veiled or covered up *Doxazō- to Honor and Magnify same word used in Jn 8:45-- how the Father honors the son I John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him (The Father) who is true; and we are in Him (The Father) who is true, in His (The Father's) Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God (God as Father) and eternal life. Acts 10:38 You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. (Fathers Will).

Gifts of Holy Spirit Discloses* Heaven's Message John 16(14-15) He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will *disclose it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose* it to you. *Anaggellō-to announce from the base word aggelos -messenger (translated Angel) Acts 2(2-4) And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance. Psalms 104(4) He makes the winds His messengers, Flaming fire His ministers. Acts 2(6 &11b) And when this sound occurred, the crowd came together, and were bewildered because each one of them was hearing them speak in his own language 11b we hear them in our own tongues speaking of the mighty deeds of God. He comes according to the context of the season of the progressive plan of the Godhead

Gifts of Holy Spirit Connect us to His Headship Not Ours 1Cor 12(7) But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. Vs. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. (He only Glorifies Jesus.) Vs. 18 But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired. Vs. 27 Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it. Col 1(18) He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

Holy Spirit Gifts Synchronize the Fathers Love 1Cor 12 (30-31) 1 Cor 13(1-2, 8, & 13) 1Cor.14(39) All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they? But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And I show you a still more excellent way. If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part; but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love. Therefore, my brethren, desire earnestly to prophecy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. How to Read the Bible for All It’s Worth by Gordon D. Fee states: "the best way to understand the Bible is to first take out the Chapters and verses".

Unity of Purpose 1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, 3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. Eph. 4(1-6) Love one another as I have loved You.

Why Gifts of Holy Spirit Holy Spirit is the primary manifestation of the Godhead's presence on the earth. Holy Spirit gives His gifts so that the Church, His Body can release Heaven's purposes upon the earth. Holy Spirit Gifts reveal the Father's heart. Holy Spirit gifts announce Heaven's message to the present context. Holy Spirit's gifts connect us, as the Body, to Jesus the Head. Holy Spirit's gifts are the Father's Love language. Holy Spirit's function is to keep the with the Father's purpose: Revealing the His heart and character through the ministry and revelation of His only begotten Son Jesus which is the Goal of Christianity.
