3 Previous Projects: From Fringes to the Centre of Society – Entrepreneurial Women for Sustainable Economic Security, 2013 (Bojszowy, Poland) Feasibility visit for organizations representing entrepreneurial women of 4 cultures: Polish, Polish Roma, Jewish and Bedouin. Partner organizations: Association of Polish Roma (Poland), Sidreh (Israel) Project funded by the European Commission, Youth in Action Programme. Workshops against the hate-speech for pupils in school (Bojszowy, Poland) www.association-gru.org

4 Project Background: The pastoralist cultures, characterized by their resourcefulness, ties with nature, family values and mobility, are currently undergoing strong socio-economic transformations all over the world. Their traditions are being revived in the context of tourism. Within the profit-oriented economy it might lead to an abuse of environmental, social and cultural resources. Their youth find it increasingly difficult to combine their identity rooted in tradition and the contemporary fashions. Lacking employment options at home, they are pushed out to the centers of big towns. This project aims to create innovative materials for youth entrepreneurial trainings. We will look for inspirations among entrepreneurial women of various pastoralist cultures who are involved in development of sustainable tourism and successfully combine traditional values with modern demands. 5 The participants – who are we looking for?  Youth workers – trainers, entrepreneurship teachers, representatives of institutions working in the fields of entrepreneurship of youth and women  Representatives of pastoralist cultures from the Carpathians’ Region and the Mediterranean Region; women entrepreneurs from these cultures We invite up to 50 Participants (25 from Poland, 25 from other countries), women and men, communication in English language obligatory Project venue: Gmina Istebna, Poland – village community located in a mountainous region of Beskid Slaski, with traditions of pastoralist culture. 6 Main goal of the project: Creation and testing of innovative sets of teaching materials in the field of entrepreneurship of sustainable tourism  the entrepreneurial women are source of inspiration of how to combine modern business with family and tradition  The intercultural context is a source of experience in cooperation in an environment of different values and codes Women of pastoralist cultures for development of entrepreneurship in sustainable tourism intercultural seminar

7 Specific goals of the project:  Increase in theoretical and practical knowledge of the solutions within sustainable tourism  Development of awareness how entrepreneurship is linked with identity, culture and environment  Development of skills in training of communication and negotiation between different values and needs for business purposes  Networking and building partnerships for promotion of entrepreneurial education among youth  Development of entrepreneurial attitudes through non-formal education Women of pastoralist cultures for development of entrepreneurship in sustainable tourism intercultural seminar

8 Results:  Creation of minimum 5 sets of workshop materials for teaching entrepreneurship in sustainable tourism and in the intercultural context, ready to be applied in practiced and made available as open resources. Follow-up:  After the seminar, each of the participating organizations will conduct workshops for youth (minimum 20 participants) using the selected set of teaching materials prepared during the seminar. It is recommended that the workshops be implemented in some cooperation with other organizations participating in the seminar to ensure the intercultural dimension. The results and recommendations from these workshops will be shared to improve the materials.

9 Women of pastoralist cultures for development of entrepreneurship in sustainable tourism intercultural seminar DAY 1 THE PASTORAL CULTURE IN ME: Identities, values and attitudes towards entrepreneurship and tourism DAY 2 ENTREPRENEURIAL EDUCATION: Concepts of sustainable growth in economy; sustainable and social entrepreneurship; methods used and new needs DAY 3 WOMEN in ACTION Visits at local women entrepreneurs active in sustainable pastoral tourism in Gmina Istebna DAY 4 BRIDGES BETWEEN DIFFERENT VALUES How to teach to respect differences, mediate in conflicts and negotiate for the benefit of sustainable growth across cultures DAY 5 and DAY 6 INNOVATION in EDUCATION Building new workshop scenarios and methods which incorporate sustainability, entrepreneurship, cultures, women and youth, tourism, pastoral traditions

10 Is YOUR ORGANIZATION interested in becoming the partner for this project? Send 1-3 participants for the seminar, share your experience and help prepare innovative set of materials. After the seminar, conduct workshops based on the seminar teaching materials for minimum 20 participants. Participation in the seminar is free of charge, accommodation and food are provided. Traveling will be refunded according to Erasmus+ budget guidelines. Your participants can also act as workshop facilitators and cooperate with us more on detailed design of the session. Facilitators will be enumerated for their work. Please fill in the „Partner Sheet” survey and send to us no later then September, 22th.
