COMPUTER GRAPHICS COURSE CONTENT: This course is designed to give each student a hands on experience in Photoshop and InDesign and Illustrator techniques. The students are expected to treat the computers and programs with respect and abide by all the class and school policies regarding the use of computers and the internet during this course. Failure to do so will result in removal from the lab!. The course content may include, but is not limited to the following areas: PHOTOSHOP- Basic techniques InDesign- - Basic techniques Illustrator- - Basic techniques TEXTBOOK AND MATERIALS: * All text books remain in class unless pre arranged with the instructor! * A 3 ring binder is recommended to keep all papers and designs in. *LAB FEE: there is a $10.00 required activity fee Checks made out to “ISD#271 Computer Graphics”

Computer Graphics CLASS OBJECTIVES: This course is designed to cover the units listed in the course Content and upon completion of this course students will have: – * Demonstrated an awareness for safety at all times when using Computers in the lab. – * Solved practical problems presented in the class. – * Successfully demonstrated proper design techniques. – * Gained a better understanding of basic Photoshop and InDesign techniques. – * Create student designed projects using a variety of techniques learned in class. – * Had pride in their work. – * Respect for the equipment and classmates throughout the course. – * Developed a career awareness for possible college or employment opportunities. – *Had the opportunity to compete in various challenges and contests. ALL SCHOOL POLICIES WILL BE ENFORCED IN THE Computer LAB!!! EVALUATION: Students will be evaluated on their daily participation and behavior, completion and quality of projects, worksheets, and test results. All students are expected to follow all safety rules and show respect to the instructor as well as the other students in the class throughout the course. Failure to to so will result in removal from the course with a failing grade.

COMPUTER GRAPHICS ATTENDANCE/TARDINESS: – Attendance is expected and required from every student to earn a passing grade. Daily lab points will be lost for unexcused absences or tardies. All school attendance policies will be strictly enforced, please read and be aware of these policies in your student handbook. Attendance will be taken immediately following the bell, you must be in your seat at that time of you will be marked absent or tardy depending on the situation. If you are late to class it is your responsibility to show a pass to the instructor and check in, failure to do so may result in you being marked absent from class. – All make up work for verified absence must be completed within two days of returning to school. Unverified absences result in a zero for the days work and lab points. Any student who leaves the room without permission to use the hall pass will be marked absent. ONLY ONE STUDENT MAY USE THE PASS AT A TIME with a five minute maximum leave time! – Daily lab points will be given to each student for being to class everyday and on time..failure to attend class and frequent tardies will result in significant point loss towards the final grade!
