3. 1.) Closed Shop Employer agrees to hire only union members

4. 2.) Fact-finding An agreement between the union and management to have a neutral 3 rd party collect facts about a dispute & present nonbinding recommendations

5. 3.) Giveback Is a wage, fringe benefit, or work rule given up when a contract is renegotiated

6. 4.) Grievance procedure A provision for resolving issues that may come up later-may be included in the final contract

7. 5.) Arbitration A process by which both sides agree to place their differences before a 3 rd party whose decision will be accepted as final

8. 6.) Mediation The process of brining in a neutral 3 rd person or persons to help settle a dispute

9. 7.) Strike Refusal to work until certain demands are met

10. 8.) Lockout Refusal to let works work until managements demands are met

11. 9.) Modified Union Shop Workers do not have to belong to a union to be hired and can not be made to join one to keep their jobs. If they join the union, they must remain a member for as long as they are employed

12. 10.) Right-to-work-law State law making it illegal to force workers to join a labor union
