Obtaining Digital Resources and Technologies Shareware – software that allows you to preview the software for a limited time and then requires purchase Freeware – has no cost, but do not assume it is not copyright protected Spyware – be careful with what you download and make sure you follow the guidelines for acceptable use Open-source – free software that allows users to access and modify the underlying code
