Her Career Ella was a singer and would also dance. (She entered the Apollo’s Amateur night as a dancer…but she chickened out and sang instead….the rest is music history). Ella's movies consisted of "Ride 'Em Cowboy" where she played a maid named Ruby in 1942, "Pete Kelly's Blues" where she played Maggie Jackson, a nightclub singer, in 1955, "St. Louis Blues" where she played herself in 1958, and "Let No Man Write My Epitaph" where she played Flora, a drug addicted singer in 1960.

Most Memorable Moments
Ella Fitzgerald's most memorable moments included her duets with world famous jazz vocalist and trumpeter Louis Armstrong. They collaborated for the Verve Records, a Universal Music Group. Fitzgerald and Armstrong are still known as a magical jazz pair to this day.
