Brainstorm situations or programs that could benefit from having you as a volunteer. (You may want to use the phonebook as a resource!) From the list you compiled, determine which agencies you would like to contact to potentially volunteer at over the semester. INVESTIGATE

Volunteering begins Feb.1 st - June 4 th. Any volunteer work completed before that date was done out of the goodness of your heart. It will not count towards your 12 hours you must complete this semester. Working for organizations that profit (but not getting paid), is not Service Learning. Example: cleaning the office at Enbridge, but not receiving payment. Helping out your friends or family members. This is an act of kindness and will not count towards volunteer hours. Example: shoveling the driveway of the elderly man down the street. If you are unsure if an organization will qualify as Service Learning, please make arrangements with your teacher before you begin volunteering. WHAT SERVICE LEARNING IS NOT…

Send a letter home to parents about how you will be involved in service learning over the semester. Must have your parent/guardian sign letter and return to your teacher by Make contacts to potential organizations you may volunteer at. This is done on your own time and you should begin contacting agencies as soon as possible. From the contacts you have made, choose a place(s) to volunteer at over the semester. You may volunteer with more than one organization. At this point you should have set up dates and times to volunteer. Begin your Service Learning! TAKE ACTION

You must complete a Personal Reflection of Service Learning. (Volunteer Form attached) You must have an Agency Evaluation by Supervisor completed.
