2.  Your primary responsibility is to communicate information to and from your FSOs-MS, your DVCDR and your DSO-MS!  Questions, concerns and monthly reports up the Chain of Communication to your DVCDR and DSO-MS.  Dissemination of information from District & Division to your FSOs-MS and Division Bridge at monthly Division meetings.

3.  Begin with yourself!  DSO-MS requests that all MS Staff Officers take IMSEP, Good Mate and ICS 100, 200, 700 & 800 online to have minimal knowledge of MS/MEP.  Provide FSO-MS training in MS/MEP areas and opportunities to members.  Encourage participation in MS/MEP activities. Lead by example!

4.  National “P” (Prevention = MS/MEP) Department website found at pdept.cgaux.org – check it out and use it!  Your FSOs-MS and DSO-MS – communicate with them!  The District “P” website – read it – know what is there for you to use!  Trident training program – get involved!

5.  List of goals for Sos-MS to achieve  Maximize personal effectiveness as SO-MS  Provide FSO-MS training in “P” areas  Involve FSOs-MS and Flotillas in “P” activities and training  Create a Division-wide “P” network, and network with other Divisions  Work toward personal “P” goals

6.  List of goals for your FSOs-MS to achieve  Maximize personal effectiveness as FSO-MS  Provide Flotilla member training in “P” areas  Involve Flotilla members in “P” activities and programs  Help create a Division-wide “P” network  Work toward personal “P” goals

7.  Minimum 5 year commitment  Training includes: › Education – 7 courses › 4 Personal Qualification Standards › 5 years of service in “P” activities  Marine Safety Training Ribbon after completion of 7 courses  Provisional Trident Award after completion of 4 PQSs – Permanent award upon completion of all requirements

8.  “P” activities may be included in PA, PE, VE, PV and Operations  There are opportunities for everyone – regardless of their areas of interest, age or physical capabilities  Trained members may be requested to assist Sector “P” departments in specific areas as needs arise or in surge conditions
