教育部 3 The History of TANet Taiwan Academic Network (TANet) was build in July of 1990. The ministry of education and several national university constructed the TANet to support education and research. The TANet is aim to combine and provide the network to each level of schools and research center in Taiwan. Therefore the office staff of the research center, students and schoolteachers are able to learning, studying and research through the network. And have a chance to build a collaboration mode of information shearing. Base on the TANet, each level of schools build the school network and connected to the internet with whole country and whole world. TANet have impetus to education of information in elementary school and junior high school , Learning and develop form the Internet and the information environment of lifetime learning ; To carry out the computerize of national education administration ; Providing research of education 、 life use etc…

教育部 4 TANet Serve To: Each level of school, include : elementary school 、 junior high school 、 high school 、 vocational school 、 special education 、 further education 、 universities. (about 4,946) Internal education and research department (16) Library and Cultural Center (41) The departments of the ministry of education and government. (31) TANet served about 5,460,000 students 、 schoolteachers and office employee.

教育部 6 Organization of TANet Management TANet regional network center –There are 9 services regions in Taiwan now, and 12 national university are chosen to be the regional network centers TANet county/city education network center –Each county/city ‘s department of education to be in charge of provide the network connection 、 maintain the network center 、 education training and education of information in each level of schools in the county/city. Organization of school network management –Each university establish the organization of school network management and take the responsibility of school network use policy 、 manager 、 coordinate and handling disputes

教育部 18 TANet IP Telephony eXchange Goal As the logical topology of Routing each RNC will configure its “default route” to the eXchange. You don’t need to test the signaling between every pairs of proxy servers among all RNCs. Schedule Build four distant IPT eXchange in two year inside Taiwan, for fault-tolerance consideration. 2006.1-6 Plan for the architecture, protocol and equipment requirement of IPT eXchange 2006.7-2007.6 Set up the ITPSC in Southern Taiwan and Central Taiwan 2007.1-6 Review the operations of IPTSC, and plan for the reamining two IPTSCs 2007.7-12 All four IPTSCs are set up. Expected Benefits Reduce the SIP interoperability testing among RNCs. Consolidate TANet Numbering Plan Set up a fault-tolerant IPTSC system
19
教育部 19 Operations of IPTSC Goal Daily operations & Help Desk Statistics and CDR (Call Detail Record) Develop common services required for inter-region calls (e.g. 411 directory service) Schedule 2006.7-2006.12 Expected Benefits Support the Numbering Plan planned by TANet for inter-regional and international VoIP call setup Statistics of inter-system VoIP calls Creation of common services
20
教育部 20 Equipment Testing Center Goal Build a testing center and provides testing equipment to help each RNC verifying the functions and interoperability of equipment before the procurement. Schedule 2006.6-2006.12 Expected Benefits The SIP phones can call servers come from different vendors. This testing center will facilitate the interoperability between systems among different RNCs. Engineers in many RNCs are still unfamiliar with VoIP equipment. The experience accumulated in this center will be helpful to reduce the time needed for trial-and-error. Create an automatic testing flow to save the time and manpower for equipment testing which is now executed by engineers manually.
21
教育部 21 Project 1: APAN SIP Server Taiwan Academic Network would like to volunteer to host the APAN SIP Server Two hosts will be allocated –Fault-Tolerance Consideration Help Desk Service in NOC –Manpower in NOC is allocated to constatntly monitor the status of the server Statistics of Call Processing Rules for Call Routing –Static –Dynamic (TRIP)
