3 How to access the internet?  In order to access the internet you must have a computer and access to either a:  Modem  Phone outlet  Cable/ T3 / DSL

4 What is www?  A collection of commerce educational and personal websites that contains electronic pages of text and graphics

5 What you can do with the internet?  Used for  Shopping  Making payments  Researching  Looking for jobs

6 Since the internet, nobody can live without the internet because of its high-speed quality and its availability to things that people need in order to entertain or help themselves and others  Research papers in school  Maintain their financial living  Communicate with people across the country

7 Why is the internet needed?  Some jobs requires knowledge of the internet  Locate temporary/ permanent jobs by looking at maps  School research papers and need further research on the internet It is a benefit for anyone who learns how to use a computer and access the internet

8 How to set up the computer with the internet  Be able to connect the telephone line to the modem  Telephone line allows the internet to connect with the server  Internet service provides monthly membership fees  Providers: AOL, Earthlink, Yahoo, Netzero, SBC  Establish a user ID and password for privacy
