2 About LRHIP Grant program – No Federal Aid Requirements
Available to cities under 5,000 in population, counties with road and bridge departments, and highway districts. Matching funds are encouraged but not required. Four type of projects Construction (including Federal-aid Match) – 75% Transportation Plans – 15% Signs – 10% Emergency

LHJ MUST be assessing property or substitute tax – pg 1 PDS or project extension due Sept. 30 – pg 2 If any expenditure is $50,000 or more, the work must follow state procurement rules (Required by State Law) – pg 2 Application back up information should be clear, follow page limits, and be organized to match application sheet. No spiral/permanent bound applications will be eligible. Original plus 12 copies MAILED or DELIVERD to LHTAC

LHTAC Crash Data Analysis Notify12 jurisdictions with most amount of K+A crashes by District LHJ to identify trends or clusters of crashes LHJ determines countermeasures and costs, fills out application LHTAC ranks projects on Benefit-Cost Ratio Provide LHTAC Council with prioritized list of projects based on Benefit-Cost Ratio Projects sent to ITD

Potential project types Striping, stop bars, raised pavement markings (durable markings) Flashing beacons, lighting improvements New, increased or improved signing New signals, signal timing Access control, guardrail Road Safety Audits

72 eligible LHJs Ranked and funded according to Benefit-Cost Ratio by ITD District All local roads within an eligible LHJ are eligible for funding Coordinate with state for projects that intersect the state system Warrant analysis must be completed prior to submitting a signal application Systemic improvements encouraged
