2 Sexual Harassment Is… Any unwanted sexual attention
Any unwelcome sexual advances, request for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. –Equal Employment Opportunities Commission

3 Sexual Harassment includes many thing:
Unwanted pressure for sexual favors or dates. Unwanted deliberate touching, leaning over, cornering, or pinching. Unwanted sexual looks or gestures Unwanted letters, calls, texts, s, or materials of sexual nature. Unwanted sexual teasing jokes, remarks, or questions

4 Also it includes: Referring to an adult as a girl, doll, babe, honey, or demeaning names Whistling at someone, howling, or cat calls. Turning work or school discussions to sexual topics Sexual innuendoes or stories Asking about sexual fantasies, preferences, or history.

5 Also Personal questions about social or sexual life.
Sexual comments about a person’s clothing, anatomy, or looks Telling lies or spreading rumors about person’s sex life. Touching a someone’s clothing, hair, or body Unwanted hugging, kissing, patting, or stroking.

6 These too! Touching or rubbing oneself sexually around another person
Looking a person up and down Facial expressions, winking, throwing kisses, or licking lips Making sexual gestures with hands or through body movements.

Receiver feels Happy Flattered In control Attractive Important Actions are Mutual Flattering A compliment Uplifting Motivated by caring Legal Victim feels Angry Sad Powerless Ugly Unimportant Actions are One-sided Humiliating A criticism Attacking Undesired Motivated by power illegal

8 Why victims Don’t report
The blame themselves They don’t want to get the harasser into trouble Don’t believe anything will be done about the harassment

9 Stopping Sexual Harassment
Tell the person that you do not like what they are doing, make direct statements Tell a friend, counselor, administrator, employer,or trusted adult Keep a record of the occurrence, and what was said or done File a Civil rights claim
