4. What happened in the town of Erath, Louisiana in 1964? The most horrible moment in Erath, Louisiana was when Hurricane Hilda visited the small town on October 3, 1964. A twister caused the water tower to collapse and kill 8 men. Go to the next slide and listen to the story.
