- Thanks to Irish people for all they have done for America to start it as a country; - 17th March (to remember everything Irish immigrant have done for America); - Shamrocks and leprechauns are everywhere; - Green colour is covering all this day; - decorate houses, offices, schools with the Irish symbols; - Cornes beef and cabbage is the traditional meal; - Coloring the river in Chicago and Boston green;

- Fourth of July – birthday of America ; first celebrated in 1776; - America declared it’s independence from Great Britain and the American revolution started; - Very patriotic holiday; - White/red/blue – American colours are everywhere; - Lots of flags, parades; - Picnics and barbecues with family and friends - Free concerts, fireworks show

- Unofficial holiday – celebrated on 31 October; - Mainly for children but adults also have fun; - Everybody dresses up in costumes; - Jack O’lanterns – from an old Irish story;

- Since 1621 - On the fourth Thursday in November - Good day to think about what you are thankful for - Spend with your family, having a big meal together, turkey is main dish - Turducken (one bird with 3 ones inside) - Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade - It has taken place every year since 1924 on the streets of New York city (gigant baloons)
