 An earthquake is when two plates rub against each other.

s-waves go in all directions and cause more damage then the p wave. P-waves go straight and fast and cause some damage.

There are two types of plates oceanic and continental plates. They move when the big old convection currents come to move them.

 The continental plates are plates under continents like Africa, Asia, north and south America, and Australia.

 The oceanic plates are in the oceans. And have more dense then the continental plates.

 The continental crust is layered different than the oceanic crust. The continental crust is layered inner core, outer core, mantle, and trench.

 There is 5 layers of the oceanic crust.  Some are smooth and some are hard.

There is 4 layers of the earth. They are all different some are thick and some are thin.

 When people are tracking earthquakes they use a seismograph to measure it.  They also use a seismograph to find the epicenter.

That is the end of this PowerPoint about earthquakes. I hope you enjoyed it.
