Page 21 5 Data Paths to the NEEShub 1.Synchronees – A tool to move data to group data and ensure others in your group can update your data. 2.webdav – A standard Windows or MacOS interface to upload/download using a web file browser 3.Project Editor – A component of NEEShub web site used to copy data directly to the NEES Project Warehouse 4.PEN – A custom java tool used to move data and metadata directly to the NEES Project Warehouse 5.Web Services Scripts – written by site power users with the Web Services API to get or put data directly into the NEES Project Warehouse. Also supporting utilities: ftp (to neesws.neeshub.org) sftp, scp (to nees.org )
22
Page 22 /home directory quota Default is 1GB When you need more, open a ticket and NEESComm IT will increase this to 10GB. If you still need more, then consider shared group space or request a custom amount

Page 25 Data Management Manage your home directory space - default 1GB - open ticket to increase
26
Page 26 Home space management Optionally you can open a workspace which provides a Linux promt to traverse and remove files and directories.
27
Page 27 Tool Contribution NEES Tool Concept – Extremely simple to start tools for users. Slightly more difficult for tool contributor to setup. Tool Contribution Flow – Request space (svn tree) – Use svn to upload data to NEES svn – Request IT to “install” latest snv tree to dev – Test dev version – Request IT to publish tool
28
Page 28 Teragrid and OSG sessions Simulations in the NEEShub run on execution servers managed by NEESComm IT. Currently this is two 16- core servers running Debian Linux. How do we provide more resource to simulations launched from the hub such as Teragrid and OSG? HUBzero provides a universal API (submit) for sending workload to remote systems such as Teragrid and OSG. Integration of OSG and submit planned for NEEShub release3, July 2011. – NEES now is a registered Virtual Organization with OSG.
29
Page 29 Summary NEEShub is “the cloud” for running cyber simulation for earthquake engineers. A rich tool management environment is available for a growing number of simulation tools and user interfaces for simulators. – This is just a start. We need to reach out to tool and model developers.
