PLOT The PLOT of a story is the arrangement of ideas and or incidents that makes up a story. Particularly as they relate to each other in pattern or sequence. ◦ The "why" for the things that happen in the story ◦ The plot draws the reader into the character's lives and helps the reader understand the choices that the characters make. Think of the PLOT as the “meat and potatoes” of the story. This is what makes the story what it is.
