1 The Mission of the NBPTS is: To establish high and rigorous standards for what teachers should know and be able to do. To develop and operate a national, voluntary system to assess and certify teachers who meet those standards. To advance related education reforms to improve student learning.

4 Who is Eligible? NBPTS QUALIFICATIONS You are eligible if you: Hold a bachelor’s degree. Hold a valid state teaching license. Have taught a minimum of three years, while holding a valid license.

6 Join the Growing Number of NBCTs. There are only 3 NBCTs in our District: Melissa Albright, Wilson’s Creek Kimberlea Gray, PHS Linda Griffin, GHS Nationwide, there are nearly 74,000 NBCTs. Currently, Missouri has 494 NBCTs. Nationally there are 1,163 NBCTs with certification in World Languages Other Than English. There are only 9 foreign language teachers in Missouri with WLOE certification. There are only 3 NBCTs in our District: Melissa Albright, Wilson’s Creek Linda Griffin, GHS Kimberlea Gray, PHS

11 How Much Time Do I Have? Process must be completed in one school year. Due date depends on completed registration date. Accomplished scores (2.75 or higher) can be “banked” for two years. Advanced candidates may retake any entry which was not accomplished.
