What is a Content Management System(CMS)? Set of processes and technologies – Collecting data – Managing data – Publishing content Text, images, graphics, video, audio, documents Different users can work simultaneously

What is a Wiki? (cont..) A wiki can be used for the following: Stand-alone application (for a single user) Can be hosted for sharing with a community over – LAN – Internet

Why Mediawiki? Capturing the data and ideas Collaboration of different users Can be viewed and edited by a group of people Centralized maintenance of different types of data (text, images, documents,video, audio etc)
