How to Combat Complacency Study – Review Mishaps, Self-Discipline, Hangar Flying – Periodic Review of Emergency Procedures and “Basics” Look in the Mirror – Be honest with yourself, “debrief” every flight, question habits/apply different conditions – Did you always use/complete Checklists? Buddy Fly, Instruction, CRM – Let others see what you may not When things change, re-assess – Slow down the situation if possible – Avoid tendency to just react or think you can “hack it”
