5. PROTECTION -Owned by the Dutch West India Company, the colony was protected by paid soldiers.

6. SETTLERS -Dutch West India Company settled and cleared the island into bouweries, or farms. -The buildings, windmills, and livestock were all owned by the company and were leased to colonists.

7. GOVERNMENT -The first governor was Peter Minuit in 1626. -He bought New York City from the Native Americans for a total of $24.

Now, there should be string hanging from the bottom of your cup. Take a piece of aluminum foil and crumple it into a ball at the bottom of your cup. The point of the game is to get the ball into the cup, good luck!
