5 Plan was designed to: Augment other districts Emergency Preparedness Plans. Ensure that districts comply with state and federal mandates. Includes forms and checklists districts must fill out. Provides districts with resources to create crisis plans. Head Start Emergency Preparedness Manual. (p. 155) Head Start Emergency Preparedness Manual. Practical Information on Crisis Planning. (p. 32) Practical Information on Crisis Planning.

6 Amount of work needed to ensure compliance of all districts. Region 9 staff must be diligent in reaching districts and ensuring proper forms are returned and attached. Does not provide an action plan for a Region wide event. Region 9 could create a plan for a Regional event or plan to help support districts in the event of a crisis.

7 I would use this plan a means to set up a Regional Crisis Management team. Districts could pool resources to help other in need. For example: Sending counselors or teachers to help other districts recover after a crisis. Provide a written plan for cities and counties to support each other in case of a catastrophic event. Creating groups of trained volunteers who are ready to help in case of an emergency in another county or district.
