Children have a difficult time with parents divorcing. 26% of boys and 34% of girls were in the problematic range. There are several types of risks that contribute to children having a difficult life. Some include economic loss, more life stress, and exposure to conflict between parents. Parents should sit down and talk to the child/children together. Remind the children that they did nothing to cause the divorce. Don’t speak badly about your spouse in front of the child. Don’t use your child as a pawn to hurt the other parent. Offer counseling. Even if the parents disagree and argue, they must both be there for the child/children. Cori Matthews CIS 1020 Final Project

CChildren from divorced parents got lower results from school. PPhysical statistics show that children of divorced parents are 50% more to develop health problems. MMost molested children come from single parent households. CChildren of divorced parents are four times more likely to have relational problems with peers and friends. TThe high school drop out rate of children is about two times higher in divorced homes.

I’ve been divorced for around five years. My kids live with me for most of the year. I do whatever I can to make my kids laugh every day and enjoy life as much as possible. My ex-husband and I get along very well for our kids sake. We know that emotionally and physically our kids need us both in their lives. Cori Matthews CIS 1020 Final Project
