9. www.itu.int/wsis/stocktaking Selected Projects International and Regional Organisations  Commonwealth Secretariat  This project builds on already existing efforts and initiatives and is currently developing a set of bilingual, dynamic websites and a system of email accounts to aid learning.  United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA)  The main goal of the project is to empower the poor and disadvantaged communities through the transformation of existing ICT access points in selected countries around the world into knowledge hubs of global knowledge networks.  UNRWA  ICT in UNRWA GAZA Schools project aims to introduce ICT as curriculum & to use ICT to enhance teaching and learning across the curriculum.

10. www.itu.int/wsis/stocktaking Selected Projects : Civil Society  Belgium: The Destree Institute  The Destree Institute will organise on Saturday 8th March 2008 in Liège (Wallonia), the International Conference "Millennia 2015”. Millennia aims to build some answers to the divides linked to gender (political, economical and social, educational and cultural).  Netherlands - Viafrica foundation  All projects are aimed at effectively using ICT in education and local organisations. At the moment, the pjoect focuses on enabling secondary schools to effectively integrate ICT in their curricula.  Egypt - Tanweer for Education & Development Association  The objective of the project is to implement a self study program using ICT to help illiterates learn how to write and read. By the end of the program 1200 illiterates will not only have eliminated their illiteracy but learned how to use the ICT. 1515 1133
