Reading for Pleasure WHAT? We want to encourage Reading for Pleasure where every student is a reader Everyone should read regularly, and have a reading book with them in school We will provide regular opportunities for Reading for Pleasure

Reading for Pleasure WHY? Did you know that, by the age of 16, students who read half an hour per day are, on average, one school year ahead of those who do not? Reading for Pleasure will help you with your spelling, your punctuation and your vocabulary in EVERY subject.

Reading for Pleasure WHEN? One registration per week will be devoted to Reading for Pleasure You will need to have your reading book with you Your Progress Tutor will tell you which morning you will need your book Write it down in your planner Keep your book with you at all times

Reading for Pleasure If you have read a good book, tell a friend Share your books with each other Visit the McAuley Centre and borrow some books Join the school Book Club Add your book recommendations to Book Reviews on Moodle If you need help choosing a book, ask your teachers, friends or check out the reading lists on the school website
