Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Grant  The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) has selected the schools to participate in the highly competitive Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) for the 2013- 2014 School Year - only 176 schools throughout the Commonwealth have been selected for participation. Benjamin Rush Elementary School has been awarded the grant.

7. Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Grant  Funding for the 2013-14 FFVP school year began July 1, 2013. PDE determines the grant amount each school will receive using an enrollment-based formula. Each school is funded at approximately $64 per student. This will provide students and staff with the opportunity to sample fruits and vegetables not commonly available to such families.
