The Basics This presentation shows both new and seasoned members what is involved in federal tax filing if your club has less than $50,000 in annual GROSS receipts Every club MUST do this yearly within 5 months of the close of your fiscal year. If not done once in past 3 years, club can lose its federal tax-exempt status

4. Starting Out Go to www.irs.gov/Filing/Charities-&-Non- Profits - Click e-file for Charities and Non- Profitswww.irs.gov/Filing/Charities-&-Non- Profits

5. Next Screen Click on See e-postcard (Form 990-N) link

6. A Key Screen Access to: – e-postcard filing program – what information you need for filing – public disclosure – viewing and downloading e-postcard filings

8. Info You Need to Gather Click here to get the eight items needed found further down on same page. Here are the items.

10. Back to Filing…. Clicking link in How to File box brings you here which will take you to the filing site – click on Leave IRS Site

13. New Users New users need to register – click on Register as a New User link in Step 1

16. If someone already registered… Password will be sent to e-mail on file. Safeguard and pass on password within the club.

17. Finally - Login Quick Menu – Create New e-Postcard or Step 2 on Home Page – Create your Form 990-N (e-Postcard)

22. Other Things You Can Do….. Check status of filing Quick Menu - Edit/View Existing e-Postcard

23. Filing Status Continued… Click on the filing to view Check Filing Status

24. Filing Status Final Click on View Form 990-N (e-Postcard) link in upper right of screen – print for records
