Mr. Chad Eisenbraun 1. How will you get the content into your Tablet so you can use the power of digital ink and other Tablet tools? Students will be using Microsoft OneNote for all of their note taking in my class. I will have shown them this early on so it becomes a habit for them. They will use their stylus to take notes on the content that we will be covering.
6
Mr. Chad Eisenbraun 2. How will the students receive their portion of the assignment? I will have a template of a Personal Monthly Budget in WebCT for each of them to begin their work.
7
Mr. Chad Eisenbraun 3. What will the students be doing during the lesson presentation? (Student Engagement) First, tablets will be closed and students will be reading Next, students will use their tablets to take notes on the section that is being discussed. Last, students will use their tablets to retrieve the Excel template and create their Monthly Budgets.
8
Mr. Chad Eisenbraun 4. How will the student portion be submitted to you for evaluation? The students will submit to me their Personal Monthly Budget which they created in Excel using WebCT.
9
Mr. Chad Eisenbraun 5. How will you use the TabletPC to evaluate the student work? I will retrieve the students Excel documents using WebCT. I will then grade each document using my stylus to make notes and give grades.
10
Mr. Chad Eisenbraun 6. What will be the strategy to return completed assignment to your student? I plan to return the completed assignments with the notes and grades to the students using WebCT.
11
Mr. Chad Eisenbraun 7. Will there time when the lids will be down on the student computers? As I said earlier, at the beginning of class the students will close their tablets so that they can read the section of the text on Personal Budgets.
12
Mr. Chad Eisenbraun 8. Describe what challenges you see you may have in managing your classroom and what your thoughts would be for handling those. Making sure that students are taking notes using their stylus and not just playing games. Our district will be using Syncroneyes software to help combat classroom management problems. I also can see a few kids having struggles using WebCT to transfer files.
13
Mr. Chad Eisenbraun 9. How repeatable is this lesson strategy for lessons you will be teaching? I think I will use this strategy quite often. The part Im not sure of yet is how I can grade students for using OneNote effectively. I plan to use strategies like this one quite often in the other business classes I teach.
14
Mr. Chad Eisenbraun 10. Other considerations? Something else I could do differently is have the students read the section outside of class and take notes on their own. Then when they come to class I could have a power point that they could have to fill in using their notes. This could be a possible way of grading their note taking ability.
15
Mr. Chad Eisenbraun 10. Other considerations? I could also have them print their notes to a journal file and send them to me using WebCT. I could have them use the Encarta program or the Internet to look up things on Personal Budgets. The possibilities seem endless!!!
