HELPFUL HINTS BENEFITS Keep in mind that BENEFITS includes more than simply the salary you earn. NATIONAL AVERAGE. Also, when you find salary information, keep in mind that the amount is a NATIONAL AVERAGE. COST OF LIVING You may earn a larger salary in Denver, CO. than you will in Dallas, but the COST OF LIVING in Denver is higher than in Dallas.

Step ONE Salary Salary includes either an hourly wage or a set monthly/year pay. Fringe benefits Fringe benefits: a pension, a paid holiday, or health insurance plan granted by an employer that has a monetary value but does not affect basic wage rates. Advancement Advancement: What levels can you climb on the corporate ladder with the degree/experience you have? Will you always be at the level you begin, or is there room for advancement that may lead to higher pay and more benefits? If not, then you may want to look at the next slide more carefully.
