2. What are landforms?
Landforms are the natural shapes or features called landforms.
There are many different types of landforms found on the earth.

3. Mountains
                                     
A mountain is a place on Earth’s surface that is much higher than the land around it.

4. Valley
A valley is a lowland area between hills or mountains.

5. Delta
A fan shaped deposit at the mouth of the river.

6. Canyon
A canyon is a V shaped valley that was eroded by a river.

7. Plains
A plain is a flat area on Earth’s surface. (grassland)

8. Floodplain
Land that gets covered by water during a flood.

9. Plateau
A plateau is a flat area higher than the land around it.

10. Island
An island is land that is completely surrounded by water.

11. Lakes
A lake is water that is completely surrounded by land.

12. Oceans
Oceans are the largest bodies of water on earth.

13. Desert
A desert is an environment that gets very little rain and has extreme temperatures.

14. Dunes
A mound or hill made of wind blown sand.

15. Coast
A coast is the area where the ocean touches the land.

16. Rivers
A river is a long flowing body of water.
