Need to do for Middle schools: Check which zoned school your child will attend via website. Select electives when sheet goes home in February and return to homeroom teacher. No shots are needed until 7 th grade officially. Optional: Stop by office to get Parent Portal ID and Password Apply for a fundamental or magnet program by January 20 th. Apply for a charter school by their deadlines

Largo Middle School Largo Middle does not have a magnet or special program at this time. However, they do have a fabulous music program! Our 6 th grade electives: art/computers, chorus, Spanish, orchestra, band, creative writing, dance and guitar.

Morgan Fitzgerald Middle School This years electives were computers, chorus, band, and orchestra. Next year, they will again offer art to 6th graders. All 6th graders take one semester of health and one semester of PE. They also take 5 core academic classes, for a total of 7 periods of instruction per day. Here is a typical schedule for 6th grade 1. Reading 2. Lang. Arts 3. Science 4. Math 5. Geography 6. PE/Health 7. Elective class (chorus, band, orchestra, computers may change) We offer Camp Fitzgerald every summer. This is a mock middle school day. Generally it is offered one week before school starts. We send a welcome letter to all students registered to our school. Gifted Magnet for Mid County

Oak Grove Middle School No lockers, but students have a set of books at home Electives include Band, Orchestra, Chorus, Robotics(application), Wheel(possible choices:art, Home Economics, computers, and technology ) P.E. is required. Unless opted out on selection form Academic classes are Math, Reading, Language Arts, Science, World Geography. AVID program Planning to open to 6 TH GRADERS if possible which is a college prep and high school readiness program.

Osceola Middle School: Courses offered: Advanced Math, Science, Lang. Arts, and Reading, Regular and Intensive Classes Electives include: AVID, Guitar, Orchestra, Band, Chorus, Multicultural, Health, PE, Wheel (Computers, Art, Spanish)

Fundamental Programs Clearwater Fundamental MS-no foreign language for 6 th graders, offers band and strings (north county) Maderia Beach Fundamental MS(mid county) Thurgood Marshall Fundamental MS(south county) Limited busing provided for this one only) Must apply. All schools open regardless of where your child resides. Parents provide transportation. Dress code and parental agreement.

Questions Best place is to ask them is the school you are interested in attending. District is moving back to attending zone schools unless in one selected and confirmed from the magnets or fundamentals.
