Ceramics Kiln Greenware Bisqueware Glazeware- Bisqueware that has been glazed and then fired. Coil- Clay rolled into a “snake” as thick as a pencil.

7. Pinch Pot- Pot made by pinching. 8. Slab- A large, flat shaped piece of clay, as thick as a pencil; like a pancake. 9. Plastic 10. Leatherhard 11. 18. Subtractive 19. Additive 20. Sgraffito- A technique in ceramics where the top layer of glaze or slip is scratched through to reveal an underlying layer.

ADDING CLAY!!! SCORE- like tic-tac-toe, crosshatching the two spots you want to connect SLIP- add ONE finger of water over the score marks SMOOTH- put the two pieces together and smooth around the two attached parts, making them look like they are one.

DRYING STAGES 1. PLASTIC- clay is soft and workable, has a lot of moisture, feels wet 2. LEATHERHARD- clay is medium red in color, is stiff but still workable 3. BONE-DRY- clay is red in color, hard, and ready to be fired in kiln
