The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science technology education students, therefore, helping students to meet the needs of the health care community.

The Jingle Bell Jog is December 8 th at Chisholm Trail High School. Where does I need to report to? – HOSA members will check in with (Mrs. McGuire or Mrs. Traylor) at the flagpole at Chisholm Trail HS What time will I need to arrive to the activity? – HOSA members will need to arrive by 8:00 AM on Saturday, December 8 th What do I need to wear? – All students should wear HOSA t-shirts (red “Zombie” shirt) How long will I have to stay? – Volunteers will work from 8:00 AM and dismiss around 10:30 AM

"If you are equipped to deal with a zombie apocalypse you will be prepared for a hurricane, pandemic, earthquake, or terrorist attack.“ So, we are going to ◦ make a kit ◦ make a plan ◦ and be prepared!

HOSA members can build kit at home and submit them for competition (Feb 2013)– winner will receive cash prize

10 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 – Texas Health Resources, 612 E. Lamar Blvd., Arlington, TX 76011 Texas Health Resources is seeking qualified 2013 high school graduating students interested in a career in nursing. Texas Health's Youth Prodigy Program is both an educational and employment opportunity; after a summer of paid training and working full-time hours at Texas Health, Prodigy students take part-time jobs at Texas Health hospitals around DFW while continuing their academic work. The Prodigy program is designed to be a pathway to eventually earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Get info from Mrs. Traylor or Mrs. McGuire

Applicants must be at least 16 years old by June 1, 2012, be currently classified as a junior, and be enrolled in high school. This experience is intended to give students the opportunity to experience what it is like to work in a modern biomedical research laboratory, so students with prior research experience are not eligible for this program.
