3. Why learn how to take notes? Note taking helps you remember what is said in class. A good set of notes can help you work on assignments and prepare for tests outside of the classroom. Good notes allow you to help each other problem solve.

4. About Cornell Notes... Developed in 1949 at Cornell University by Walter Pauk. Meant to be easily used as a test study guide. Adopted by most major law schools as the preferred note taking method.

5. STARS  Set up your paper  Take the notes  Apply your own thinking  Reflect and summarize  Study your notes!

6. STARS: Set up your paper  Draw a vertical line from top to bottom that is a few inches from the left margin.  Draw two horizontal lines just below the top.  Leaving about a third of the page from the bottom, draw a horizontal line.
