State’s Efforts to Promote EITC Planning grants to start asset building coalitions Annual EITC Campaign Technical assistance and best practices resources

Asset Building Planning Grants Annual Request for Proposals to fund asset building coalitions Grants range from $5,000 - $50,000 depending on funding Free tax prep and EITC outreach are required activities of the grant Eligible activities include free tax prep, foreclosure prevention, credit counseling, financial education, benefits coordination, homeownership, etc. To date 15 coalitions have been started (see map)

Annual EITC Campaign November – May Gear up for marketing campaign, coordinate with other state agencies, update marketing materials Marketing Partner with DSHS, ESD and WIN 211. 15 coalitions including United Ways, CAPs, and non-profits Collateral Production and Mailing Over 1 million mailings to public benefits recipients Radio and TV ads in rural and underserved areas

Technical Assistance and Resources EITC Learning Group Monthly EITC calls Network with peers around the state Learn best practices and share innovations Brainstorm solutions to challenges Share National EITC Resources Announce trainings and volunteer opportunities
