NAHRI Mission: The NAHRI is an advocacy group dedicated to raising public awareness for the fight against human trafficking occurring along the U.S.-Mexican border by conducting research and lobbying We recognize one of the vital problems facing the world is the illegal trafficking of humans This form of modern day slavery is particularly relevant around the U.S.-Mexican border region
3
Human Trafficking According to a report released by the State Department, human trafficking in this region generally encompasses women transported for sexual exploitation and forced labor in the United States Approximately 17,000 people are illegally trafficked into the United States from Mexico every year The victims not only come from Mexico, but also several other countries in Central and South America
4
Goals Raising public awareness of the problems facing the border region concerning human trafficking Working with media outlets to report violations of human rights Collaborating with organizations who have similar interests in fighting human trafficking ( U.S. Dept. of State, Mexican National Immigration Institute, etc…)
5
