Symptomatology and pathology 1 Parasites often provoke nonspecific and diverse symptoms –e.g. Toxocariasis in children Microparasites often provoke more acute disease compared to the chronicity of macroparasites –e.g. Plasmodium falciparum versus Strongyloides stercoralis
