2 Vocabulary: names of places in Hong Kong things to do Language items: e.g. I can go to Tsim Sha Tsui. There are many shops and food centers. I will see the sharks in the Ocean Park. 3 Subject Related: English “New Welcome to English” Module: 5 About Hong Kong Unit 9 Visiting Hong Kong Learning Targets: Knowledge Strand, Interpersonal Strand, Experience Strand. Learning Objectives: 1.Students will say and write the names of the places in Hong Kong. 2.Students will say and write simple sentences with the learnt places and things to do in Hong Kong. 3. They can express in future tense and infinitive tense.

4 Some Information : Generic Skills: communication skills, collaboration skills critical thinking, searching information etc. Values & Attitudes: Be polite, friendly and helpful to tourists. Time allocation: nine lessons in the classroom, one half-day outing and preparation for exhibition.

5 Some Information(Cont’d) : Resources: textbooks, reference books, pamphlets, web resources. Use of IT: power points, websites, excel Parties involved: P.4 Eng. Teachers and students, teacher assistant tourists, shopkeepers and staffs of information centers. Products: Oral presentation, written report, pamphlets, booklet, song- tape, exhibition.

9  Students are divided in groups of 4  Class discussion to name the famous places in Hong Kong and things to do  Students search pamphlets and web resources Students search pamphlets and web resources for sharing  A survey to students ’ most favourite place with the help of excel  A detailed reading of the most favourite place to promote to tourists  A visit to students ’ most favourite place

11 Content 1st Lesson: Motivation with mind mapping, composing songs. 2nd Lesson: Search and read the information of different famous places in Hong Kong. Then fill in the worksheet individually/in group for sharing. Share students ’ work. 3rd Lesson: A survey to students ’ most favourite place Read the information of students ’ most favourite place in detail. 4th Lesson: Design the questionnaire to ask the tourists. 5th Lesson: Practice the questions. 6th Lesson: Visit students most favourite place (half day) 7th Lesson: Watch the video 8th Lesson: Prepare the written report about the most favourite place. 9th Lesson: Tell the class about the promotion of Hong Kong famous place to the tourists. Other lessons:Prepare the exhibition.
