UKHLS Consultation Launch, 19/06/07, RSS Potential Research Topics Determinants of behaviour that impact upon any of the following, including knowledge, beliefs and attitudes: - energy consumption (particularly fossil fuel energy) - transport demand - air quality and environmental pollution - global warming Related issues such as intra-household transmission of knowledge and beliefs Etc…

UKHLS Consultation Launch, 19/06/07, RSS Potential Questionnaire Topics Knowledge and beliefs regarding human-induced climate change; Knowledge and beliefs regarding energy supply and energy demand; Attitudes towards personal responsibility vs. collective (government) responsibility; Attitudes towards relevant personal behaviour (car use, electricity consumption, waste, etc); Housing decisions (location, construction, insulation, etc); Transport behaviour (car use, public transport, walking, cycling); Energy consumption (source of energy, purpose, quantity, etc). Etc….

What sample sizes / frequencies are needed? Measurement issues (past week vs. past month vs. “usual”; self-report vs. diary; etc) Lessons from previous surveys and research
