In your group, discuss what you each consider to be the most important ideas put forth in Chapter 2 of the Teaching and Learning at a Distance text. Refer to knowledge, resources, articles, and other information of which you are already aware if appropriate. In your group, explain how these ideas have had or will have an impact on online learning and teaching, particularly if such impact might exist within your own locus of control or in an environment of which you are aware (like this course!). Questions to consider: Why are there different definitions of DE? What does Keegan mean by "reintegration of teaching”? What does ‘equivalence of learning’ mean? Why is the concept important in distance education? For the purposes of wrap-up, in your group, decide on one aspect of your discussion you'd like to share with the entire class. Elect one of your group to share that aspect in about two minutes with the larger group during wrap-up.
