4. Animal Symmetry Symmetry: balanced arrangement of parts Two types ◦ Bilateral - One line divides into halves that are mirror images (Isosceles triangle) ◦ Radial – many lines of symmetry that all go through a central point (circle) Asymmetry – no symmetry

5. Animals with Radial Symmetry Parts arranged around a center point Live in water Don’t have a front or back end Do not move fast

6. Animals with Bilateral Symmetry More complex Have a front end Move more quickly Most have sense organs on front end (eyes, whiskers, nose, ears)
