Waste: Composter These are already in use in Robbins Park These will be used to reduce the waste produced by Robins Park Free fertilizer

Energy: Photovoltaic Cells (Solar Panels) These are put on the roof, converting sunlight into electric energy. This reduces the electricity bill for Robins Park, as less energy is taken. Essentially reducing the amounts of fossil fuels burned.

Insulation: Green Roof A green roof provides insulation through its soil and vegetation. Relatively cheap as it pays for itself over the years. Absorbs excess water

Materials: Sustainable Flooring This is a broad type of flooring, that use materials that are more friendly to the environment. This includes bamboo, linoleum, recycled carpet, and recycled tires. Sustainable flooring is also considerably cheaper than normal flooring.

Water: Rain Barrels The collection of rain can be useful when preventing runoff. This rain water can then be used for many activities. This reduces the amount of money spent on water and the amount of energy to get it there.

Where will our credits go? Wind farms: " An area of land with a cluster of wind turbines for driving electrical generators" (Merriam Webster) On the top of each wind turbine there is a box called the nacelle, which is where the generator is held. A anemometer lies on top of the nacelle to determine the direction and the wind speed. The nacelle position changes in the way the wind is blowing. The wind then spins the rotor to spin magnets coiled with copper wire to create a flow of electrons or electricity. The electricity then goes through the tower and into the underground cable to be distributed.

Steps To Electricity 1. Wind passes through the rotor making it spin (Wind carries Kinetic Energy) 2. The rotor spins the generator in the nacelle 3. Copper wires spin within a magnet 4. Produces electricity 5. Gets distributed through consumers or stored in a battery

Advantages of wind farms Wind is a renewable energy that can be used again and again Its free, clean, and requires no fuel No greenhouse gases produced Wind farm can be good to give electricity to rural areas. "Wind farm in west Victoria, called challicum provides enough electricity for 25000 homes."(Advantages)

Disadvantages of wind farms Climates in different areas is unpredictable Hard to find places to build a wind farm Could be dangerous for migrating birds Take up a lot of room to build Noisy "Wind farms can prove very expensive if it is not locate near end user. Connecting wires between wind farm and homes makes it very expensive."(Disadvantages)
