Opportunities for Connecting to Citizens Through Data.gov Agencies can help to drive innovation throughout their constituency by – Create an app for your agency’s data – Have a visiting intern or summer faculty? Have them create a lesson plan, video, or activity around agency data Integrate with existing educational plans or goals – Sponsor a challenge for developers around agency data – Participate in or lead a community on Data.gov April 25, 2011

What is a Community? Vision—what will the community connection and collaboration look like in the future Leaders—who will help to lead the community (a person or core group) Participants—who will be part of the community Outcome—what are the expected outcomes, metrics, and measurements that will show success Functionality—what types of activities will be conducted on the site (forums, blogs, wikis, ranking, rating, etc.) Content Interactivity—what ways will the community interact with the leaders, with each other, and with the public April 25, 2011
