Presented by the Rotary eClub of the Southwest USA * www.recswusa.org How does an E-Club work? Each E-Club will develop its own model – here is a brief look at how we do things. Our bylaws state that we are a global club, and will accept members of any age from any Rotary country. We have 83 members in 14 countries, on six continents. Member age varies from 21 to 86. Most members have previously been Rotarians in other clubs. Weekly meeting. We use written and video format.

Presented by the Rotary eClub of the Southwest USA * www.recswusa.org How does an E-Club work? Our weekly meeting basically follows the typical Rotary meeting. Welcome Inspirational moment President's remarks Inductions or other special presentations Club announcements Sergeant-at-arms Rotary minute Speaker/Program Fellowship

Presented by the Rotary eClub of the Southwest USA * www.recswusa.org How to start an E-Club Do your district leaders support forming an E-Club? If so, why? Where do they see the value? How can they support an internet-based club? Who can join? Would your E-club be restricted to your district's geography? Regional? Global? Specialized along some other dimension (like young professionals)? Why would people join this club? Lots of things to think about in the planning stage.

Presented by the Rotary eClub of the Southwest USA * www.recswusa.org How to start an E-Club Are you looking for existing/past Rotarians or new Rotarians? If both, what is your initial focus? How will your meetings be conducted? All online? Some face-to-face? What technologies? How often/where? How will you handle "speakers" at your meetings? To fit all the above, what will your Bylaws look like? What committees will you need? What board positions? Lots of things to think about in the planning stage.

Presented by the Rotary eClub of the Southwest USA * www.recswusa.org How to start an E-Club How will your E-Club members receive ongoing training in Rotary? Will they attend district events? How will training be delivered? How will your club embrace the five avenues of service? It's clear that Rotarians value fellowship very highly. How will your E-Club address this issue? Lots of things to think about in the planning stage.

Presented by the Rotary eClub of the Southwest USA * www.recswusa.org How to start an E-Club What functionality will need to be on your website to encapsulate all of the above? Cost of developing website? Cost of maintaining it? An E-Club is a very different kind of club than a traditional Rotary Club. Given this, what existing club will sponsor the new E-Club? How will they support the new E-Club? Who will be the charter president? Where will its founding members come from? Lots of things to think about in the planning stage.
